The 2020 United States presidential election was held on November 3, 2020, amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The election was a contest between Republican nominee and incumbent President Donald Trump, and Democratic nominee Joe Biden, former Vice President under Barack Obama. Biden secured 306 electoral votes to Trump's 232, and received over 81 million popular votes.
