Donald J. Trump

Donald J. Trump, born on June 14, 1946, in Queens, New York, is the 47th President of the United States and previously served as the 45th President of the United States. A businessman and television personality before entering politics, Trump rose to national prominence as a real estate mogul and the host of The Apprentice. In June 2015, Trump announced his candidacy for President as a Republican, running on a platform that emphasized immigration reform, deregulation, tax cuts, and a promise to "Make America Great Again." Despite initial skepticism, Trump defeated Clinton in the 2016 election by an electoral vote of 304 to Clinton's 227.

Following his defeat in the 2020 election, Trump remained influential in American politics and officially launched his comeback campaign in 2022. Running on a platform focused on border security, economic nationalism, and a promise to "finish what he started," Trump secured the Republican nomination and won the 2024 election, defeating Vice President Kamala Harris. This election was notable for Trump's unprecedented return to power, making him the second president in U.S. history to serve non-consecutive terms, following Grover Cleveland.
